Biography:

Marija Burtscher (b. 1991) is a Vienna-based producer. After several years of working on national and international film productions and sets, she began studying Production at the Film Academy Vienna in 2019. During her studies she produced several short films, including DER RISS , which won the 2023 First Steps Award for Best Mid-Length Film.

Since 2025 she has been part of the Talent Lab of the Austrian Film Institute (ÖFI), where she is currently developing her first feature film THE MOON AND ITS AMNESIA (director: Raphaela Schmid) as a producer. Her work focuses on internationally oriented arthouse cinema with a strong visual approach, and on collaborating with directors who pursue a distinctive cinematic language.

She currently works at Wega Filmproduktion as a production manager and coordinator.
