Biography:
Lisa Hasenhütl was born in Graz in 1988 and works as a director and screenwriter. During her school years she spent a year abroad at the City of Sunderland College, England. After completing her degree in English/American Studies in Graz with a focus on transnational feminism, she moved to Luxembourg and completed an internship with subsequent permanent employment at Amour Fou Luxembourg and later at Amour Fou Vienna. In 2014, she received a Fulbright Scholarship for her thesis on "Female Empowerment in Persepolis and Mail Order Bride". Since 2016 she has been studying directing with the screenwriting module at the Film Academy Vienna. Since then, she has realized several short films and supported numerous film colleagues as assistant director on their films. Her most recent films include "Heart it Races" (Max Ophüls Preis, Diagonale, Cinema Jove and others) and "Child's Play", which won the Audience Award at the Austrian Panorama of the Tricky Women Film Festival 2021. In 2022 she worked as creative assistant for Jessica Hausner before and during the shooting of "Club Zero".
