Biographie:
Rebecca Akoun wurde 1985 in Frankreich geboren und studierte an der École Supérieure des Arts et Industries Graphiques in Paris. 2003 setzte sie ihr Studium an der Bezalel Akademie für Kunst und Design in Jerusalem in der Animationsabteilung fort. Ihre Animationsfilme wurden auf zahlreichen internationalen Festivals ausgewählt und werden von Les Films du Préau, Arte, vertrieben.
Rebecca hat auch als Animatorin an mehreren Animationsfilmen gearbeitet, darunter „Uncanney Valley“ von Paul Wenninger, der 2016 den Preis für den besten österreichischen Animationsfilm gewann.
Sie wurde kürzlich zum Mitglied der Jury beim Internationalen Filmfestival für junges Publikum Ale Kino! in Polen sowie auf der Bratislava Animation Biennale (BAB) in der Slowakei ernannt.
